Preface

This article will be updated on a regular basis. Updates may be required in response to updates to DARS or changes to business processes or errors.

Ensure you are familiar with the Data Protection laws before adding data to records in DARS. Refer to DARSWiki FurtherHelp for further information and relevant links.

Introduction

This document defines how response codes to telephone campaigns are recorded in DARS. All values below are held within the Response Category of ‘Appeal Phonecall’, except for opt-outs which are held within the Response Category of ‘Appeal Pre-call’. Only final response codes should be recorded on DARS; interim codes (e.g. call back tomorrow) do not need to be stored.

Fundraising Calls

In the chart below, peach highlighted rows count as ‘yes’ responses for the telethon participation rate and the yellow highlighted rows count as ‘no’ responses. Non-highlighted rows are excluded when calculating participation rates.

* Alternatively, you can choose to code the constituent with the same response as their spouse or partner, if the response was a joint one.

+ These gifts may be included within the telethon’s overall pledge total, but not in participation rates.
